On 12 February 2026, Mr. Monsak Jangariyawong, Director of the Economic Division, Department of ASEAN Affairs, along with officials from the Department, visited the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia, to discuss the promotion of ASEAN economic cooperation in areas such as trade and investment, the digital economy, connectivity, and energy.

During the visit, the delegation exchanged views with representatives of the relevant divisions of the ASEAN Secretariat on Thailand’s priority areas under the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). Discussions covered the effective utilisation of ASEAN Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), including the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP); progress toward the conclusion of the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA); advancement of the ASEAN Power Grid; strengthening ASEAN connectivity; and key economic priorities in preparation for Thailand’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2028.
