On 20 February 2026, Ms. Suchada Maktara, Deputy Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs met with Dr. Somsak Akksilp, the Executive Director of the ASEAN Centre for Active Ageing and Innovation (ACAI) at the Centre at the Innovation and Health Technology Building for Older Persons, Department of Medical Services, the Ministry of Public Health.

 

During the meeting, Deputy Director-General Suchada discussed the Centre’s overall missions and exchanged views on how to enhance cooperation to promote regional health resilience. Deputy Director-General reiterated the Department of ASEAN Affairs’ readiness to support and facilitate the operation of the Centre in advancing its mission.

The Centre was established in 2019 during Thailand’s ASEAN Chairmanship with the key mission to promote regional cooperation in addressing ageing societies in the region.
