On 7 September 2023, H.E. Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, joined 4 meetings during the 43rd ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, including (1) 20th ASEAN – India Summit, (2)18th East Asia Summit, (3) 3rd ASEAN – Australia Summit, and (4) 13th ASEAN – UN Summit, at Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta, Indonesia .
After these meetings, PS Sarun also participated in the Closing Ceremony of the 43rd ASEAN Summit and Related Summits. During the ceremony, H.E. Mr. Joko Widodo, President of Indonesia, handed over the ASEAN Chairmanship to H.E. Mr. Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister of Lao PDR. Theme of Lao PDR’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2024 will be “ASEAN; Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience.”
