On 11 February 2026, Mrs. Pawaree Xuto Chaipatiyut, Acting Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs, attended the 18th Annual Meeting of the Council of the ASEAN-Korea Centre, in Seoul. The Meeting reviewed the implementation of the Centre’s work over the past year and exchanged views on its annual work programmes and budget for fiscal year 2026 in advancing key cooperation projects, particularly in the areas of trade and investment, education, culture, and quality tourism, with a view to guiding the development of projects and activities to support the implementation of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) and the new Plan of Action (2026-2030) between ASEAN and the ROK.
​The Acting Director-General expressed appreciation for the Centre’s active roles in pursuing programmes to support ASEAN-ROK relations, and further encouraged the Centre to tailor the AKC’s work to support the implementation of the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA), as well as promote the creative economy and people-to-people relations.
​As the Country Coordinator for ASEAN-ROK Dialogue Relations (2024-2027), Thailand took the opportunity to reaffirm its full and continued support for the Centre’s work.
