On 27 October 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, the 15^th ASEAN-United Nations Summit endorsed the “Complementarities between the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, also known as the “Complementarities Initiative (CI) 2.0”. The CI 2.0 is an initiative of Thailand, in its capacity as ASEAN Coordinator for Sustainable Development Cooperation, in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and the ASEAN Secretariat. The CI 2.0 report provides a strategic framework to advance the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in synergy with the ASEAN Community Vision 2045.

The CI 2.0 report highlights five key priority areas, namely, (1) Green finance, (2) Resilience against climate change, (3) Energy transition, (4) Effective digital transformation, and (5) Networking and partnerships.
