On 26 February 2026, Mrs. Chatvadee Chindawongse, Acting Director-General, Department of ASEAN Affairs, representing the Southeast Asian subregion in the panel discussion under Agenda Item 4(c): Implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at the Subregional Level, the 13th Asia-Pacific Forum for Sustainable Development (APFSD) held at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok. Representatives from other 4 subregions across Asia-Pacific and a representative from the Youth Advocacy Network also took part in the discussion to share experiences and subregional perspective, highlighting the importance of inter-subregional cooperation in advancing the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the exchange of information and good practices, as well as the promotion of resilience, innovation, and inclusive engagement of all stakeholders.
On this occasaion, the Acting Director-General reaffirmed Thailand’s proactive role as the ASEAN Coordinator for Sustainable Development Cooperation on initiatives, such as the development of the Complementarities Initiative (CI) 2.0 as a guiding framework for ASEAN’s sustainable development efforts, or the ASEAN Sustainability Week aimed at streamlining various ASEAN sustainable development-related activities under a single platform. Furthermore, the Acting Director-General also presented updates on ASEAN’s progress in implementing the SDGs through initiatives, including the ASEAN Power Grid (APG) and the ASEAN Catalytic Green Finance Facility (ACGF).
