On 7 July 2026, H.E. Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand, in her capacity as Country Coordinator for ASEAN-ROK Dialogue Relations (2024-2027), co-chaired the 30th ASEAN-ROK Dialogue in Seoul with H.E. Ms. Cecilia Chung, Deputy Minister for Political Affairs and Senior Official of the ROK, to prepare for the upcoming ASEAN Post Ministerial Conference (PMC) with the ROK later this month.

To advance the ASEAN-ROK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Thailand led discussions on trade, investment and digital economy, highlighting 3 priorities, namely (1) Deepening economic integration and strengthening trade resilience through the swift conclusion of the ASEAN-Korea Free Trade Agreement (AKFTA) Upgrade; (2) Expanding collaboration to promote sustainable investment in advanced industries and supply-chain diversification, and cross-border payment connectivity; and (3) Elevating digital economy partnership and fostering a trusted digital ecosystem by leveraging the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA) and strengthening cooperation against cyber-enabled crimes.

Prior to the Meeting, the Permanent Secretary held a bilateral meeting with the Deputy Minister for Political Affairs and Senior Official of the ROK to strengthen Thailand-ROK relations ahead of the 70th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations in 2028. Both sides discussed high-level exchanges, trade cooperation, and exchanged views on key regional developments of mutual interest.
