On 15 May 2025, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, held discussions with Mrs. Milena Maria da Costa Rangel, Vice Minister for ASEAN Affairs and ASEAN Senior Official of Timor-Leste, on the sidelines of the 29^th ASEAN–Republic of Korea (ASEAN-ROK Dialogue) held in Bangkok.

Both sides discussed the progress of the implementation of the Roadmap for Timor-Leste’s Full Membership in ASEAN. In this regard, the Permanent Secretary commended Timor-Leste for its notable progress, particularly its readiness to accede to the Priority One ASEAN legal instruments across all three pillars. Thailand stands ready to support Timor-Leste through technical assistance and knowledge-sharing programs based on Timor-Leste’s needs, to assist Timor-Leste in meeting the Roadmap’s criteria and joining ASEAN as a full Member State.
