On 14 August 2025, Mrs. Pawaree Xuto Chaipatiyut, Deputy Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs, welcomed Mr. Andrew Egan, Minister and Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Australia in Thailand, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of the latter’s assumption of duty in Thailand. During the call, the two sides discussed the way forward in strengthening ASEAN-Australia cooperation in priority areas,  preparations for the 5^th ASEAN-Australia Summit in October in Kuala Lumpur this year, as well as exchanged views on regional and international issues.
