On 13 July 2023, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the ASEAN Post Ministerial Conference with the Republic of Korea co-chaired by H.E. Mr. Bui Thanh Son, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, and H.E. Mr. Park Jin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of ROK.
Thailand welcomes ROK’s constructive role under the ROK’s Indo-Pacific strategy and the Korea-ASEAN Solidarity Initiative (KASI) and proposes cooperation towards resilient and sustainable future by broadening cooperation on technology and innovation to increase economic opportunities. Thailand also encouraged closer ASEAN-Korea cooperation through further use of “soft power” to strengthen people-to-people connectivity, particularly the youths.
Currently, Viet Nam serves as the Country Coordinator for ASEAN-ROK relations during 2021-2024, which Thailand will assume its role for 2025-2028.
