Minister of Foreign Affairs witnesses the signing of “Kuala Lumpur Declaration on ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future” by ASEAN Leaders

 

On 26 May 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, witnessed the signing of the “Kuala Lumpur Declaration on ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future” by the ASEAN Leaders to adopt the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and its four Strategic Plans covering the three ASEAN Community Pillars (Political-Security, Economic, Socio-Cultural) and ASEAN Connectivity.

 

The signing was held on the sidelines of the 46th ASEAN Summit and other related meetings in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and its four Strategic Plans will serve as a milestone document which sets out directions for advancing the ASEAN Community in the next 20 years, taking into account the current global landscape, emerging issues and future opportunities that ASEAN needs to collectively address and leverage, with a view to realising a “Resilient, Innovative, Dynamic, and People-centred ASEAN.”
