On 25 May 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the 36th ASEAN Coordinating Council on the sidelines of the 46th ASEAN Summit and other related meetings in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

 

The Foreign Minister emphasised the need for appropriate reviews of the new ASEAN Community Vision 2045 to ensure ASEAN’s adaptiveness and responsiveness in the next 20 years. He also updated ASEAN Member States on the progress on developing the Complementarities between the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and the SDG 2030 or “Complementarities Initiative (CI 2.0)” spearheaded by Thailand. In addition, the Foreign Minister reiterated continued support for Timor-Leste in all areas to meet all the criteria required to become a full member of ASEAN.
