On 16 February 2023, Ambassadors and representatives of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States to Thailand, namely H.E. Mr. Abdulrahman Abdulaziz Alsuhaibani, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; H.E. Mr. Mohamad Husain Alfailakawi, Ambassador of Kuwait, H.E. Mr. Issa Abdullah Jaber Al-Alawi, Ambassador of Oman, H.E. Ms. Muna Abbas Mahmood Radhi, Ambassador of Bahrain; along with representatives of the Embassies of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, paid a joint call on Ms. Usana Berananda, Director-General of Department of ASEAN Affairs.

          Both sides discussed the GCC’s proposal to convene  ASEAN-GCC Summit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2023, as well as exchanged views on ways to advance practical cooperation between ASEAN and GCC, such as finalising the Framework of Cooperation 2023-2027, accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), and application for ASEAN Sectoral Dialogue Partnership by GCC’s countries.
