On 17 July 2025, Mr. Bolbongse Vangphaen, Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, met with Mr. Benedikt Hofmann, Regional Representative ad interim of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Regional Office for Southeast Asia and the Pacific, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Director-General welcomed UNODC’s continued partnership and acknowledged the valuable contributions of the UNODC Regional Office for Southeast Asia and the Pacific in promoting border security and combatting transnational crime in the region.

Both sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between Thailand and UNODC, particularly in the area of border management. They also discussed preparations for the Second Border Management Cooperation Dialogue for the ASEAN Region, which will be co-hosted by Thailand and UNODC on 16–17 October 2025 in Bangkok.
