On 30 May 2023, Ms. Busana Berananda, Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs, attended the 20th ASEAN-Canada Dialogue in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Thailand encouraged Canada to enhance its constructive role in the region and strengthen cooperation with ASEAN, particularly in the areas of education, human capital development, people-to-people connectivity, tourisms, and sports. The Meeting also discussed the preparations for the ASEAN-Canada Summit in September 2023 in Jakarta, to launch the establishment of ASEAN-Canada Strategic Partnership.
