On May 22, 2025, Mrs. Chatvadee Chindawongse, Deputy Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs, delivered a briefing at the Briefing Session for ASEAN Secretariat Staff on the Complementarities Initiative, organized by the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). The session was held to provide ASEAN Secretariat staff and project coordinator officers from ASEAN Dialogue Partners with an overview of the Complementarities Initiative — an initiative developed by Thailand in its capacity as the ASEAN Coordinator on Sustainable Development Cooperation to promote synergies between the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Deputy Director-General also provided an update on the progress of the Complementarities Initiative 2.0, which aims to further advance the implementation of the new ASEAN Community Vision 2045 in parallel with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
