On 26 August 2026, Ms. Suchada Maktara, Deputy Director-General of the Department of ASEAN, led officials from the Economic Division in discussions with Ms. Krittiya Petsee, Director of the Foreign Affairs Division, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy, and officials from the Ministry of Energy. Both sides exchanged information and views on energy cooperation and key energy-related issues under the ASEAN framework, including the ASEAN Power Grid (APG), the ASEAN Framework Agreement on Petroleum Security (APSA), and clean and renewable energy cooperation. The meeting also disscussed ways to enhance cooperation and coordination in advancing Thailand’s priorities on ASEAN energy cooperation as well as preparations for Thailand’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2028.
