On 15 August 2025, H.E. Mr. Paisan Rupanichkij, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, delivered opening remarks at the ASEAN-China Innovative Business Forum 2025 “Climate Investment and Green Enterprises: Exploring Growth Potential through Regional Green Synergy” at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The event was organised by the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Foregin Affairs, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, and the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP). There were approximately 200 participants, including representatives from government agencies,
the diplomatic corps, and private sector.

The Deputy Permanent Secretary highlighted the crucial link between economic growth, technology, innovation, and climate and environmental action as essential tools for advancing sustainable development at both regional and global levels. This requires strong collaboration among the public sector, private sector, and civil society. ASEAN and China, as leading actors of economic growth in the region, are committed to the shared vision of creating a sustainable and environmentally responsible future, as reflected in the “Green ASEAN” goal and China’s Global Development Initiative (GDI). Furthermore, he reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and net zero by 2065.

This Forum aims to strengthen the economic growth of ASEAN through collaboration on green investment and technology between ASEAN and China, while expanding business opportunities and cooperative networks for sustainable development. The event featured presentations and discussions on climate investment and green finance, as well as green enterprise and environmental technologies, and the future development of renewable energy by maximising digitalisation.
