On 13 July 2023, Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the 24th ASEAN Plus Three (APT) Ministerial Meeting on behalf of H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. The Meeting was chaired by H.E. Mrs. Retno Marsudi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia and attended by Foreign Ministers and representatives of the ASEAN Member States and the Plus Three countries, as well as the Secretary-General of ASEAN.
Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan emphasised the importance of APT as the main regional framework in addressing common challenges. He highlighted priority areas such as public health, economic cooperation and supply chain connectivity, digital economy, financial stability, food and energy security, as well as people-to-people exchanges, while supporting cooperation among the Plus Three countries by utilising the Regional Comprehensive Economic Cooperation (RCEP) and ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR).
