Department of ASEAN Affairs Met with the ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network, Thailand

              On 21 June 2018, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs met with M.L. Preeyapun Sridhavat, Chairperson of the ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network (AWEN) Executive Board Focal Points of Thailand (2018-2020) and  the Network’s representatives. Also present at the meeting was Mrs. Patcharee Arayakul, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Women’s Affairs and Family Development, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security

             The meeting focused on AWEN Thailand and its activities planned  for this year. In this connection, AWEN Thailand expressed its wishes to work closely with the Department of ASEAN Affairs as the ASEAN National Secretariat.

              Director-General Suriya Chindawongse took this opportunity to congratulate AWEN Thailand on its assumption of the Chairmanship of AWEN during 2018-2020 after the Philippines. He expressed the Department of ASEAN Affairs’ full support for the work and activities of the Network in the promotion of the role of Thai and ASEAN women in the ASEAN Community, particularly during the year of 2019 when Thailand holds the Chairmanship of ASEAN.
