                      On 23 August 2017, the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN and the Department of ASEAN Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs jointly organized the Workshop on the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC) 2025 at Pullman Bangkok King Power in order to disseminate information and correct understanding of MPAC 2025 to representatives of relevant Thai agencies and academic institutions. H.E. Mr. Vitavas Srivihok, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs opened the workshop with H.E. Mr. Pradap Pibulsonggram, former Thailand’s representative in the ASEAN Connectivity Coordinating Committee (ACCC) as one of honourable guests.

                       The distinguished speakers for the workshop were H.E. Ms. Elizabeth P. Buensuceso, the Permanent Representative of the Philippines to ASEAN and the Chair of ACCC, Mr. Chze Cheen Lim, Director of ASEAN Connectivity Division, ASEAN Secretariat, and Mr. Chayatan Phromsorn, Deputy Director-General, Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning. In addition, there was a brainstorming session among the representatives of relevant Thai agencies and academic institutions in the afternoon as well as a round-table discussion during which the participants had an opportunity to exchange views and ask questions to the distinguished speakers.       

                      MPAC 2025 is an important tool within the ASEAN framework to promote regional connectivity. This will result in increased incomes and help ASEAN peoples to travel within the region more easily, which will connect our region and make ASEAN Community a people-centered community.
