ASEAN – EU Meeting in Luxemburg

            On 6 November 2015, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs attended the ASEAN – EU Meeting in Luxemburg as Thailand is the Country Coordinator for ASEAN – EU Dialogue Relations. The Meeting is also attended by H.E. Ms. Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the Union of Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/ Vice President of the European Commission, and H.E. Mr. Le Luong Minh, Secretary – General of ASEAN.

            The Meeting discussed about approaches to elevate the ASEAN – EU relations to a strategic level. The EU side reaffirmed its commitment to deepening the cooperation with ASEAN by highlighting the increase in budget to support ASEAN’s projects, the appointment of EU Ambassador to ASEAN, and the enhancement of its security cooperation within the ARF framework such as maritime security, preventive diplomacy, transnational crimes, and disaster management. Thailand also reaffirmed its readiness to serve as the Country Coordinator for ASEAN – EU dialogue relations and to host the 21^st ASEAN – EU Ministerial Meeting (AEMM).
