We welcome efforts to revitalize the Trilateral Mechanism of China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea to further promote peace, security, stability, and prosperity in East Asia.
We reaffirm the important meaning of the ASEAN Plus Three cooperation framework with ASEAN as the driving force, and other ASEAN-led mechanisms to promote a culture of dialogue and cooperation, enhance mutual trust and confidence, and respect for international law in the region, as well as to promote, mainstream and tangibly implement the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific. The revitalization of the Trilateral Mechanism would further support the ASEAN Plus Three framework and strengthen the ASEAN centred regional architecture.
